Whether or not you’re in a climate where it’s cold enough to snow, these cookies let you choose your own adventure. Every day’s a snow day with these adorable and delicious jun kombucha snowball cookies !

Jun kombucha cookies? Yes indeed. The idea of putting jun kombucha in cookies might seem unusual, but one taste of these happy little morsels and you’ll be a believer. Wild Tonic’s seasonal flavor, Chai Pear, adds a touch of spice and everything nice to these snowy sweets — without imparting an overly “kombucha-y” flavor.

It’s also easy to make adjustments based on your preferences. Want more spice? Shake in a little cinnamon, nutmeg, and/or cardamom. Prefer a little crunch? Add a handful of chopped toasted nuts to the dough before baking.

As you’ll notice, the recipe calls for a relatively small amount of Chai Pear … that means you’ve got plenty of jun kombucha left to enjoy with the finished cookies! Or, get really cozy and whip up one of our delicious cocktail recipes.

Wild Tonic Chai Pear Jun Kombucha Snowball Cookies

Makes about 20

Prep time: 15 minutes

Bake time: 12-15 minutes

Total time (including cooling): Approximately 1 hour

Ingredients

1 cup + 2 tablespoons flour

Pinch salt

1 stick unsalted butter, softened

1 cup confectioners’ sugar, sifted, divided in half

1 tablespoon Wild Tonic Chai Pear Jun Kombucha

Process

Position a rack in the middle position of your oven. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C.) Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Sift together the flour and salt. Set aside.

In the bowl of a stand mixer or by hand, cream the butter until smooth and creamy. Add half of the confectioners’ sugar and the Wild Tonic Chai Pear Kombucha.

Add the flour, mixing only until the mixture has an even consistency. The dough should have a texture somewhat like Play-Doh.

Roll the dough into approximately 1-inch balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the balls have a matte finish (they may appear slightly golden on the edges, but you don’t want them to be browned.)

Remove from the oven. Once cool enough to handle, roll the balls in the remaining confectioners’ sugar. If you don’t get even coverage the first time, don’t worry — this is just a base coat of sugar. Roll a second time once cool (or before serving) for optimal snowy coverage.
