The Verde Valley stretches from Mingus Mountain — east of Prescott — to the Mogollon Rim, south of Flagstaff.
The 1,200 square miles of the Verde Valley encompasses the municipalities of Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Jerome, Camp Verde, and Sedona, as well as a few unincorporated communities.
Elevations range from approximately 3,000 feet above sea level in historic Camp Verde, to more than 5,000 in the former mining town (and now thriving artist community) of Jerome.
The wide variety of elevations is reflected by an equally wide variety of terrain. Although geographically described as “high desert,” newcomers are surprised to note that term includes: mountains, beautiful wild flowers, forests of cedars and junipers, creeks and rivers!
The Verde Valley lifestyle is casual and family oriented. Residents enjoy great recreational opportunities – hiking, biking, camping, hang-gliding, and kayaking, to name just a few.
